My Learning Experience – Joy and Challenges

Learning is an important thing in our life. We learn since we are children, and we never stop learning. We are learning from everywhere, every time. Learning can give us knowledge also can be our challenges.

I believe that “Own gold room in the book, the own face, in the compliance with that jade in the book.” Do you believe that? In my past 11 years, I got a lot of useful knowledge from learning, such as computing power, language skills and thinking ability, those things are helpful to my daily life. I can find happiness and success from learning, because knowledge is our wealth, learning is a joy!

Although I love study, I am not good at study, especially English. English is my weakness, but I know that if I want to be an university student, I must overcome my horror of English. Last week, Ms. Nee gave us an article about two A-level students who are physically challenged as they are visually impaired; they encounter a lot of learning difficulties. However, they do not give up but try their best to combat the difficulties. Their perseverance and determination have set up a good role for us. As a normal people I am very ashamed that I didn’t try my best in learning English.

I will sit for the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary School Education next March. There is no more time to waste; I must pay extra effort in order to catch up the English standard of other school students. If I can conquer my fears of English, things are easier to be. I think I must have a strong will to achieve my goal. Well~ maybe I need to revision six hours a day. Hope that I can have a good result in the HKDSE!

My First Encounter with African Culture - Music and Dance

On 27th June, 2012 all F.5 students had an OLE (Other Learning Experience) activity about African Drum. This was my first time exposure to African culture. The African Drum and Music were passionate, so that all the students were very involved. Although the venue was small and the weather was hot, we were enjoying in African drumming.
The coach is African and speaks English, but we can use music and body language to communicate and interact, I thought that was the OLE activity’s purpose. Besides, we had a surprise during the activity. Our principal and teachers also took part in the activity. Don’t you think this is a rare opportunity to see our principal and teachers dance and sing?

Because of this activity, I knew more about African culture. African Drum also called Djembe. Originated from Kenya, was belong to the indigenous musical instruments. Pass though the Individuals gave different forces to create a Poly-rhythmic sound environment. Also, African drumming can build up our teamwork skill and leadership skill.

I though I had an unprecedented experience on that day. This is a meaningful and exciting activity for all students. Also we can take a rest after the exam.

Um…I think we will not have such a happy time like this activity in coming year because these two mouths are our last summer holiday in secondary school, and we will have our HKDSE.

This blog is my first English blog, I want to use this blog to improve my poor English, hope all 5E girls can have a fun and improvement tgt.
